Today, 21 April 2013, His Beatitude Daniel announced in the end of the Divine Liturgy, in the Patriarchal Cathedral, that Saturday, 27 April 2013, the Palm Sunday pilgrimage will take place from the Cathedral for the Nation’s Salvation to the Patriarchal Cathedral. <\/p>\n
“As we have already done during the last few years, the Palm Sunday pilgrimage is held in Bucharest on Lasarus’ Saturday, as remembrance of the Lord’s going into Jerusalem. This year the itinerary is a little different, namely it will no longer start from Radu Vod\u0103 Monastery of Bucharest, but from the new Patriarchal Cathedral, the Cathedral for the Nation’s Salvation. The Vesper will be celebrated there at 15.00 hours and a thanksgiving prayer to the Most Holy Trinity too for the work done so far at the Cathedral for the Nation’s Salvation, namely because the construction work has come out of the ground reaching level 0, where the pilgrim will come into the new cathedral. Level 0 means, in our case, 4 metres over the ground. The infrastructure work is finished. Now a new bidding follows for the builder to raise the over-structure, namely the building itself up to the cross on the highest belfry, of the Pantocrator or Saviour. After we have thanked God we shall consecrate the willow branches with which we shall set off from the chapel of the Cathedral for the Nation’s Salvation to the church of Saint Nicholas – Vladica, to Saint Ecaterina church – university chapel, then climb the Joy Hill to reach the Cathedral of Saints Emperors Constantine and Helen, where the small icons will be consecrated. The faithful present will receive icons of the Entrance of the Lord in Jerusalem. Thus, Saturday, 27 April, 15.00 hours the Vesper will begin at the building yard of the new Cathedral for the Nation’s Salvation. If it is raining, the Vesper will be celebrated in the chapel of the Cathedral for the Nation’s Salvation nearby”, His Beatitude said. <\/p>\n
