{"id":586036,"date":"2026-08-27T12:15:18","date_gmt":"2026-08-27T09:15:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/basilica.ro\/?p=586036"},"modified":"2026-08-27T12:15:18","modified_gmt":"2026-08-27T09:15:18","slug":"romanian-priests-choir-gold-medal-slovenia","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/basilica.ro\/en\/romanian-priests-choir-gold-medal-slovenia\/","title":{"rendered":"Romanian priests\u2019 choir wins gold medal at international competition in Slovenia"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>The \u201c\u0218tefan Nosievici\u201d Priests\u2019 Choir of the Archdiocese of Suceava and R\u0103d\u0103u\u021bi won the Gold Medal in the Sacred Choral Music category on Monday at a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/chorusinsideinternational\/posts\/international-choral-competition-chorus-inside-24-august-2026-concert-hall-europ\/1529661689200366\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">choral competition in Portoro\u017e<\/a>, Slovenia.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The result crowns the ensemble\u2019s work and marks another appearance on the international music scene.<\/p>\n<p>Father Ionel-Doru Budeanu, Dean of Suceava and choir coordinator, said the award recognised the entire ensemble&#8217;s work and its desire to make the beauty of sacred music better known.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cWe are delighted and grateful for this Gold Medal, which crowns the hard work and dedication of the members of the \u0218tefan Nosievici Priests\u2019 Choir. We had the joy of representing the Archdiocese of Suceava and R\u0103d\u0103u\u021bi and of sharing, through song, the beauty and depth of sacred choral music,\u201d Father Ionel-Doru Budeanu told <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/story.php?story_fbid=pfbid0X4AStQY6WiwKFiLTgtAgBdzt7puFZQwbnAxoJacUHmTNbW7kHCEDDrkipMkvgXLbl&amp;id=100087527655111&amp;_rdr\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">local media<\/a>.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The choir\u2019s coordinator also thanked everyone who supported the ensemble\u2019s participation in the international competition.<\/p>\n<h2>Five years of activity<\/h2>\n<p>The \u201c\u0218tefan Nosievici\u201d Priests\u2019 Choir was founded in 2021 at the initiative of Archbishop Calinic of Suceava and R\u0103d\u0103u\u021bi.<\/p>\n<p>The ensemble brings together priests and deacons from the archdiocese&#8217;s deaneries and has taken part in numerous Church and cultural events in Romania and abroad in recent years.<\/p>\n<p>The Gold Medal won in Slovenia follows the choir\u2019s first prize at the International Festival of Orthodox Church Music in Hajn\u00f3wka, Poland, in 2022.<\/p>\n<p>The \u201cCiprian Porumbescu\u201d Girls\u2019 Choir from Suceava also took part in the competition in Portoro\u017e, winning the Grand Trophy in the Folklore category and the Trophy and Gold Medal in the Polyphonic Secular Music category.<\/p>\n<p>Photo: Archdiocese of Suceava and R\u0103d\u0103u\u021bi<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The \u201c\u0218tefan Nosievici\u201d Priests\u2019 Choir of the Archdiocese of Suceava and R\u0103d\u0103u\u021bi won the Gold Medal in the Sacred Choral Music category on Monday at a choral competition in Portoro\u017e, Slovenia.
