The initiative sought to express solidarity with the Ukrainian people and to express hope for peace.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cMay God bless Ukraine and all those who stand with the Ukrainian people,\u201d representatives of the Vicariate said in a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/story.php?story_fbid=pfbid02HWPqqHQBwXrLVyxHV68rTzr63CwKRV6PH8MbumguNtqaSKZFEVAQtYjF1gZgkpf2l&amp;id=100072410613949&amp;_rdr\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Facebook post.<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Ukraine celebrates its <a href=\"https:\/\/romania.mfa.gov.ua\/news\/14338-deny-nezalezhnosti-ukrajini\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Independence Day<\/a> every year on August 24, marking the day the Supreme Soviet of the Ukrainian SSR adopted the Declaration of Independence.<\/p>\n<p>The Ukrainian Orthodox Vicariate is a canonical administrative-territorial unit under the Romanian Patriarchate that serves Ukrainian Orthodox faithful living in Romania.
