{"id":580004,"date":"2026-07-21T11:53:37","date_gmt":"2026-07-21T08:53:37","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/basilica.ro\/?p=580004"},"modified":"2026-07-21T11:53:37","modified_gmt":"2026-07-21T08:53:37","slug":"gerontissa-icon-pilgrimage-canada-2026","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/basilica.ro\/en\/gerontissa-icon-pilgrimage-canada-2026\/","title":{"rendered":"Canadian monastery to host Gerontissa icon pilgrimage, pan-Orthodox youth gathering"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>At the beginning of the Dormition Fast, the Romanian Orthodox Holy Cross and St Ephraim the New Monastery in Ontario, Canada, <a href=\"https:\/\/monasterymono.org\/en\/2026\/07\/mono-1-aug-panorthodox-young-adults-gathering-under-the-protection-of-mother-of-god\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">will host a pilgrimage<\/a> with the miracle-working Gerontissa Icon of the Mother of God, together with a new Pan-Orthodox Young Adults Gathering for Canada.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The events will take place on 31 July and 1 August in the presence of Bishop Ioan Casian of the Romanian Orthodox Diocese of Canada.<\/p>\n<p>The programme will begin with Great Vespers at 6:30 p.m. on 31 July.
