Bishop Nectarie of Ireland and Iceland officiated<\/a> on Bright Tuesday for the first time at the English-language parish \u201cSaint Brendan the Navigator and Saint Joseph the New of Parto\u0219\u201d in Dublin.<\/strong><\/p>\n

In his sermon, the bishop explained the Gospel passage of the Road to Emmaus, highlighting that although Christ set the disciples\u2019 hearts aflame through His word, He was recognised by them in the breaking of the bread.<\/p>\n

He underlined the parish\u2019s missionary role, noting that through the Sacrament of Baptism, it has brought joy and light to the lives of many people of different nationalities.<\/p>\n

Parish priest Bogdan Cardu highlighted the diversity of the community, established two years ago on the feast of Pentecost, and composed of faithful and catechumens from several national backgrounds.<\/p>\n

He also emphasised the parish\u2019s openness to people of other nationalities who wish to discover and deepen the Orthodox faith, underlining its missionary role within Irish society.<\/p>\n

A significant moment during the visit was when Bishop Nectarie offered a vestment belonging to Saint Joseph the New of Parto\u0219.<\/p>\n
