Romanian Orthodox faithful in Vr\u0161ac, Serbia, joined Serbian Orthodox believers in a traditional Easter night procession<\/a>, highlighting inter-Orthodox unity.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The evening began within the Romanian community at the Episcopal Cathedral \u201cAscension of the Lord,\u201d where Bishop Ieronim of Dacia Felix officiated the ceremony of receiving the Holy Fire. Clergy from across the diocese concelebrated, alongside many Romanian faithful from the Serbian region of Vojvodina.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe light we receive is not merely a visible, passing light, but a sign of God\u2019s work in the world, a living witness to Christ\u2019s Resurrection, which illumines the darkness of sin and death,\u201d Bishop Ieronim said.<\/p>\n

At midnight, Bishop Ieronim celebrated the Resurrection service, after which the Romanian community joined a joint procession with the Serbian Orthodox faithful, led by Metropolitan Nikanor of the Serbian Banat.<\/p>\n

The two groups of clergy and believers met in the city centre, at the site of the martyrdom of Saint Theodore, the Bishop of Vr\u0161ac, where they performed a shared liturgical service.<\/p>\n

Metropolitan Nikanor highlighted the fraternal communion between the two Orthodox communities, saying that \u201cthe Resurrection of the Lord gathers us all into one confession of faith and one love, beyond any borders or human differences.\u201d<\/p>\n

He added that \u201cthe light of the Resurrection is a source of peace and reconciliation\u2014peace that the world today so greatly needs, a peace that flows from Christ, the conqueror of death.\u201d<\/p>\n

Bishop Ieronim, in turn, thanked the hierarch and the Serbian Orthodox Church for their cooperation and coexistence, underlining the brotherly dimension of this communion.<\/p>\n

\u201cOn this holy night, we are called to live not as members of separate communities, but as one family in Christ, united by the same faith and the same joy of the Resurrection,\u201d he said.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

He also urged believers to live out Christian love in practice, noting that \u201cthe Paschal call to embrace one another is not merely symbolic, but a call to forgiveness, reconciliation and real communion among people.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Resurrection of the Lord reveals the true vocation of the human person\u2014to live in eternal communion with God, transcending the limits of fallen nature and an existence marked by sin and death,\u201d Bishop Ieronim added.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe light of the Resurrection does not only shine outwardly, but penetrates the depths of the human being, transfiguring the mind and heart, and restoring the authentic meaning of human existence: to become bearers of God and witnesses of His love in the world.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Following the procession, Bishop Ieronim celebrated the Divine Liturgy at the Diocesan Cathedral in Vr\u0161ac.<\/p>\n

In his homily, he emphasised the theological depth of the feast, stating that \u201cthe Resurrection of Christ is not only an event of the past, but the foundation of our life\u2014the beginning of a new, transfigured existence.\u201d<\/p>\n
