Denis Vlad<\/a>, a religion teacher and parliamentary adviser, has urged young people to recognise the importance of faith in God for coping with life\u2019s challenges and for healing.<\/strong><\/p>\n

He said<\/a> there are numerous examples showing that a strong faith in God provides not only emotional resilience but also physical strength.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe have many examples, books and experiences demonstrating that a strong faith in God not only offers us a shield against emotional challenges, but also brings healing,\u201d Vlad said.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

He frequently recommends the book Man\u2019s Search for Meaning<\/a> by Viktor Frankl to his students, which draws on the author\u2019s personal experiences to show how spirituality contributes to emotional resilience.<\/p>\n

\u201cFaith and spirituality do not give us only emotional resilience but physical resilience as well,\u201d he said.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Vlad also referred to testimonies from survivors of the Pite\u0219ti Experiment<\/a>, a brutal communist-era re-education programme in Romania.<\/p>\n

\u201cMany survivors said their strength to endure came from believing in something greater than themselves\u2014namely God,\u201d he explained.<\/p>\n

Moral Compass<\/h2>\n

In Vlad\u2019s view, without moral reference points, people become emotionally vulnerable.<\/p>\n

\u201cFrom my perspective, moral values are the skeleton on which our soul rests. As I used to tell my students, they are like the root that nourishes us,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cWithout this root, we end up at the mercy of the wind, going wherever it carries us, whether we like it or not.\u201d<\/p>\n

He added that emotional fragility often appears when people lack these moral foundations.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf we have strong roots\u2014meaning moral values\u2014then we can discern what we want to do and where we want to go. We become masters of ourselves and are not easily influenced,\u201d Denis Vlad said.<\/p>\n
