The Church ranks first in the public trust league in Romania, according to the latest barometer<\/a> published by Informat.ro and INSCOP Research.<\/strong><\/p>\n

According to the survey data, 63.9% of respondents report having \u201cquite a lot\u201d or \u201cvery much\u201d trust in the Church, up from 57.7% in July last year.<\/p>\n

The Church thus becomes the institution enjoying the highest level of public trust in Romania, overtaking the Army and confirming a trend of strengthening favourable public perception.<\/p>\n

The director of INSCOP Research, Remus \u0218tefureac, explained the result by noting the growing tendency among Romanians to relate to institutions perceived as non-political.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Church and the Army remain symbolic reference points of stability and identity, showing that the population is looking for anchors of continuity outside the political arena itself. This is a classic pattern in societies marked by structural distrust towards the political class,\u201d he said.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

The survey was conducted between 12 and 15 January 2026 using CATI (telephone interviews) with a sample of 1,100 respondents, representative of Romania\u2019s non-institutionalised adult population. The margin of error is \u00b13% at a 95% confidence level.<\/p>\n
