{"id":557081,"date":"2026-01-26T15:59:06","date_gmt":"2026-01-26T13:59:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/basilica.ro\/?p=557081"},"modified":"2026-01-26T15:59:06","modified_gmt":"2026-01-26T13:59:06","slug":"patriarch-daniel-bucharest-archdiocese-2025-activity-report","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/basilica.ro\/en\/patriarch-daniel-bucharest-archdiocese-2025-activity-report\/","title":{"rendered":"Patriarch Daniel presents Bucharest Archdiocese 2025 activity report"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Romanian Patriarch Daniel presented the general report on the Bucharest Archdiocese\u2019s activities in 2025 during the annual meeting of the Archdiocesan Assembly on Thursday, January 22.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The event opened with a Te Deum service celebrated by the Archdiocese&#8217;s Assistant Bishop Timotei of Prahova, in the Europa Christiana Hall of the Patriarchal Palace.<\/p>\n<p>Patriarch Daniel delivered the report in plenary session, including summary figures on the archdiocese\u2019s administrative and pastoral work, economic and heritage management, cultural and missionary activity, education, and philanthropy.<\/p>\n<h2>Philanthropy and social support<\/h2>\n<p>The value of social and charitable assistance provided last year to church institutions and people in difficulty amounted to around 2.2 million euros, alongside a number of social infrastructure projects.<\/p>\n<p>These projects included work on the construction of a day centre for children with hearing impairments in Bucharest; services offered through the \u201cSmile for All\u201d social dental clinic, run in partnership with Sector 2\u2019s child protection and social assistance directorate (DGASPC), where 780 patients were treated last year; and the submission of a project to establish a new palliative care centre in Ploie\u0219ti.<\/p>\n<h2>Committee discussions and proposals for the new year<\/h2>\n<p>Detailed reports were subsequently reviewed by specialised committees, while deanery heads met separately for brief presentations and proposals for activities in the coming year.<\/p>\n<p>At the end of the meeting, members of the Archdiocesan Assembly approved the reports on 2025 activities, including the financial statement, as well as the draft budget for 2026.<\/p>\n<p>The Archdiocesan Assembly is the deliberative body responsible for all administrative, cultural, social-charitable, economic and heritage matters of the archdiocese.
