A rehabilitation and social reintegration centre for young people affected by addictions will be built in Gala\u021bi County, an initiative of the Archdiocese of the Lower Danube in partnership with local medical and educational institutions, according to the Agerpres<\/a> news agency.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The project was presented by Archbishop Casian of the Lower Danube during the feast day of the \u201cProtection of the Mother of God\u201d Skete in Frumu\u0219i\u021ba, Gala\u021bi County. The hierarch said the new centre will serve as \u201ca clinic of hope and healing \u2014 a space of spiritual therapy for adolescents suffering from the diseases of sadness.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cOur hope grows that the Garden of the Mother of God will be cultivated for a special category of young people who need the loving medicine of the Theotokos,\u201d Archbishop Casian added.<\/p>\n

The event gathered medical specialists from the \u2018Elisabeta Doamna\u2019 Psychiatric Hospital of Gala\u021bi, faculty members and students from the University of Gala\u021bi\u2019s Faculty of History, Philosophy, and Theology, and staff from the Tichile\u0219ti Juvenile Detention Centre, all of whom will participate in the project\u2019s implementation.<\/p>\n

Dr Eduard Drima Polea, a psychiatrist from the Elisabeta Doamna Hospital, praised the initiative as \u201ca remarkable idea to help young people rediscover their lost freedom.\u201d<\/p>\n

Valentina Voinea, head of psychosocial assistance at the Tichile\u0219ti Penitentiary, also welcomed the collaboration: \u201cThrough our experience and resources, we can help implement the project, raise awareness in the community, and support social reintegration.\u201d<\/p>\n

The new social centre is being built with the support of the Nativity of the Mother of God Monastery \u2013 Cudalbi, on land donated by a family of believers from Bucharest, located in the outskirts of Frumu\u0219i\u021ba, Gala\u021bi County.<\/p>\n
