This celebration is marked by a series of cultural and religious events.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>On Sunday in Nicosia, Romanians celebrated in the presence of Metropolitan Christophoros of Karpasia. Also present was Romania\u2019s Ambassador to Cyprus, Dan Mihalache.<\/p>\n<p>They were joined by Yannis Panayiotou, Cyprus\u2019s Minister of Labour and Social Insurance. Additionally, Romanian MEP Eugen Tomac and presidential adviser Ana-Maria Gean\u0103 were also in attendance.<\/p>\n<p>Video messages of congratulations were sent by Romania\u2019s President Nicu\u0219or Dan. Anita Demetriou, President of the House of Representatives of the Republic of Cyprus, also sent a message. The celebration concluded with a special concert by Damian Dr\u0103ghici &amp; Band.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" style=\"border: none; overflow: hidden;\" src=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/plugins\/post.php?href=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.facebook.com%2Fdanmihalache.amb%2Fposts%2Fpfbid0hiSBSAdVFZHo9gwuFidVuc8urcoimRgbERCWVyDD4ueygf3zmv52p8F97Q4PZRsul&amp;show_text=true&amp;width=500\" width=\"500\" height=\"748\" frameborder=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\" data-mce-fragment=\"1\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>The event, attended by 300 Romanians, was organized with support from the Department for Romanians Abroad.<\/p>\n<p>The anniversary celebrations will continue on Sunday, October 5, with a Divine Liturgy and a memorial service in Romanian, celebrated at the Romanian church in Nicosia by Father Petre Matei, the representative of the Romanian Patriarchate in Cyprus.<\/p>\n<p>Father Matei will commemorate all the promoters of the Romanian cause and the departed members of the Romanian community.<\/p>\n<p>The Romanian Orthodox Community in Cyprus was founded in 1995 under the name Alliance of Romanians in Cyprus.
