The mosaic portrait of Saint Elijah L\u0103c\u0103tu\u0219u, a newly canonised Romanian Confessor Priest of the 20th century, that will be placed inside Romania\u2019s National Cathedral, was created by the Saint’s great-grandniece, Andreea Daria Guran.<\/b><\/p>\n
\u201cThis gesture is at once a gift from today\u2019s generation to that of yesterday, and a testimony that holiness is not lost in the mists of time, but is reborn in every act through which we honour it,\u201d the National Cathedral\u2019s communication team wrote on Facebook.<\/p>\n
\u201cFor me, Saint Elijah L\u0103c\u0103tu\u0219u is like an uncle and an unseen support, and while creating this icon, I always felt his help and blessing,\u201d artist Andreea Daria Guran told Basilica.ro.<\/p>\n
\u201cEvery step, every piece of mosaic was placed with emotion, prayer, and gratitude for the strength I received from above. That is why I would not want the merit for this work to be attributed to me,\u201d she emphasised.<\/p>\n
