On Saturday, Germany’s Romanian Metropolitan Serafim welcomed<\/a> Metropolitan Theoklitos<\/a> of Stagoi and Meteora, along with a delegation of Greek monks, at the archdiocesan centre in Nuremberg.<\/strong><\/p>\n

On this occasion, the Greek hierarch brought for veneration the left hand of St. John Chrysostom, a precious relic from the Monastery of St Varlaam at Meteora.<\/p>\n

Metropolitan Theoklitos praised the missionary work of the Romanian Metropolis and participated in a liturgical and catechetical program. Children from the \u201cEmmaus\u201d parish school took part in the Divine Liturgy and engaged in educational and recreational activities.<\/p>\n

After the service, Metropolitan Serafim presented an overview of the Romanian Orthodox Archdiocese of Germany, Austria, and Luxembourg.<\/p>\n

As a gift, Metropolitan Theoklitos offered an icon of the Mother of God \u201cPanagia Mesitria.\u201d At the end of the event, the faithful had the opportunity to venerate the relic of St. John Chrysostom.<\/p>\n

The Greek delegation was in Nuremberg at\u00a0the invitation of the Greek parish of \u201cHoly Apostles\u201d and the city of Schwabach, which is twinned with Kalambaka, the closest urban centre to the Meteora Monasteries.<\/p>\n
