{"id":516879,"date":"2025-02-26T11:34:46","date_gmt":"2025-02-26T09:34:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/basilica.ro\/?p=516879"},"modified":"2025-02-26T11:34:46","modified_gmt":"2025-02-26T09:34:46","slug":"patriarch-of-bulgaria-autocephaly-local-church-maturity","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/basilica.ro\/en\/patriarch-of-bulgaria-autocephaly-local-church-maturity\/","title":{"rendered":"Patriarch of Bulgaria: Autocephaly is a measure of a local Church&#8217;s maturity"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>&#8220;Autocephaly is a measure of the maturity of a local Church in indissoluble communion with the other local Churches, members of the One, Holy, Catholic, and Apostolic Church,&#8221; <a href=\"https:\/\/bg-patriarshia.bg\/news\/obrashtenie-na-balgarskia-patriarh-daniil-i-sv-sinod-po-povo\">noted<\/a> Patriarch Daniil of Bulgaria last Saturday, as the Bulgarian Orthodox Church marked the 80th anniversary of its autocephaly recognition.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>His Beatitude emphasized that the world is undergoing times of trials and challenges to unity.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Division and confrontation are visible at all levels, threatening to undermine the achievements of our predecessors,&#8221; the Bulgarian Patriarch continued.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;In such moments and in the face of these trials, we need their example even more\u2014the study and faithful adherence to the principles and ideals that guided their lives and actions.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Everything we enjoy today\u2014a free and independent Bulgarian state and our autocephalous Orthodox Church\u2014is the fruit of our predecessors&#8217; faith and trust in God and His eternal justice.
