{"id":515675,"date":"2025-02-14T12:27:44","date_gmt":"2025-02-14T10:27:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/basilica.ro\/?p=515675"},"modified":"2025-02-14T17:09:26","modified_gmt":"2025-02-14T15:09:26","slug":"glasgows-romanian-parish-moves-educational-programs-to-new-location","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/basilica.ro\/en\/glasgows-romanian-parish-moves-educational-programs-to-new-location\/","title":{"rendered":"Glasgow\u2019s Romanian parish moves educational programs to new location"},"content":{"rendered":"<p data-start=\"89\" data-end=\"429\"><strong>Non-formal educational activities for Romanian children in Glasgow have begun in a <a href=\"https:\/\/roarch.org.uk\/the-romanian-school-in-glasgow-has-a-new-home\/\">new parish school location<\/a>, which was blessed last week by Archbishop-elect Atanasie of Great Britain and Northern Ireland during the patronal celebrations of the &#8220;Presentation of the Lord to the Temple&#8221; Parish.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"431\" data-end=\"661\">The event was attended by Andreea Ioana Berechet, Romania\u2019s Consul General in Edinburgh, who donated educational materials, and Aurelia Nicoleta Titirez, Head of the Romanian Consular Office in Belfast, Northern Ireland.<\/p>\n<h3 data-start=\"663\" data-end=\"704\"><strong data-start=\"667\" data-end=\"702\">Prayers for Wisdom and Identity<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"705\" data-end=\"884\">The archbishop-elect offered prayers for the successful continuation of the educational programs and engaged in discussions with the children and youth attending the school.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"886\" data-end=\"1216\">He emphasized the importance of faith, culture, and traditions, highlighting the need for preserving Romanian national identity. Nicolae \u2013 Glasgow<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<h3 data-start=\"1218\" data-end=\"1268\"><strong data-start=\"1222\" data-end=\"1266\">A Growing Romanian Community in Scotland<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"1269\" data-end=\"1503\">The &#8220;Presentation of the Lord&#8221; Parish in Glasgow was established in 2008 by Father Marcel Opri\u0219an, who now serves in B\u00e2rsana, Maramure\u0219.
