The Holy Synod of the Romanian Orthodox Church elected Archimandrite Nectarie Clinci, abbot of Sih\u0103stria Putnei Monastery<\/a>, as Assistant Bishop of the Archdiocese of Chi\u0219in\u0103u on Wednesday evening.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The newly appointed bishop will bear the title “His Grace Bishop Nectarie of Bogdania, Assistant Bishop of the Archdiocese of Chi\u0219in\u0103u.”<\/p>\n

With his election, the Metropolis of Bessarabia will now include four hierarchs within its structure.<\/p>\n

Monastic and Academic Background<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Bishop-elect Nectarie Clinci was born on November 15, 1968, and entered monastic life at Putna Monastery, where he was tonsured a monk on November 20, 1996, by Bishop Gherasim of Putna, Assistant Bishop of the Archdiocese of Suceava and R\u0103d\u0103u\u021bi.<\/p>\n

On October 1, 2000, he was appointed hegumen of Sih\u0103stria Putnei Skete and later elevated to the rank of protosyncellus on March 25, 2002, by Assistant Bishop Calinic of Boto\u0219ani.<\/p>\n

Since February 20, 2005, he has served as abbot of Sih\u0103stria Putnei Monastery, and on December 31, 2006, he was elevated to the rank of archimandrite.<\/p>\n

He holds a bachelor’s degree from the Faculty of Orthodox Theology in Pite\u0219ti and a master\u2019s degree from the Faculty of Orthodox Theology in Sibiu.<\/p>\n

Additionally, Archimandrite Nectarie has completed technical studies, earning a degree from the Technical University College in Gala\u021bi (specializing in naval engineering and equipment) and graduating from Industrial High School No. 5 in Br\u0103ila.<\/p>\n

Administrative and Ecclesiastical Roles<\/h3>\n

Since 2020, Father Nectarie has served as Regional Exarch and has been a member of several commissions within the Archdiocese of Suceava and R\u0103d\u0103u\u021bi.<\/p>\n
