Significant progress is being made on the largest center for hearing-impaired individuals in Romania, with the roof installation set to begin soon. The Archdiocese of Bucharest launched the project in 2022, and it is expected to be completed by the end of this year. The center is located in Bucharest’s Sector 5, at 7 Doina Street, on land donated by the B\u0103rb\u0103tescu Vechi Parish.<\/strong><\/p>\n

“Like any initiative aimed at doing great good, this project faced its share of challenges. However, with God\u2019s help, we are now approaching the stage where the building will be fully enclosed,” said Father Ionu\u021b Tutea, diocesan advisor for the Archdiocese of Bucharest\u2019s Social Philanthropy and Mission Sector, in an interview<\/a> with Trinitas TV.<\/p>\n

To date, construction costs have reached 4 million lei. Once the exterior is complete, the interior spaces will be prepared according to legal regulations.<\/p>\n

Facilities and Services<\/strong><\/h3>\n

The multifunctional center will include a chapel, a social hall, play and study areas, and a social canteen capable of providing 50 meals daily for community members.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe efforts are sustained, and while we have some financial predictability, every contribution counts. Over the years, individuals and organizations have come forward to support this project, and we are deeply grateful,\u201d added Father Ionu\u021b Tutea.<\/p>\n

During an interview with Trinitas TV, Father Mirel Ilie, parish priest for Bucharest\u2019s hearing-impaired community, emphasized the center’s importance. He highlighted the need for specialized equipment to care for those with hearing impairments.<\/p>\n

Beneficiaries will receive tailored support based on their specific disabilities. Father Mirel Ilie also stressed the necessity of an after-school program to help children with hearing impairments prepare for exams and academic success.<\/p>\n

Professional Support for Development<\/strong><\/h3>\n

The center will offer psychological support to help young individuals cope with social marginalization and challenges associated with their disabilities. A speech therapist will assist in improving their communication skills, contribute to their personal and professional growth, and enable a more independent and fulfilling life.<\/p>\n

Additionally, the center will implement communication and information systems tailored to the specific needs of the hearing-impaired community.<\/p>\n
