Saints Paisius Olaru and Cleopas Ilie were commemorated<\/a> on Saturday at Sih\u0103stria Monastery in Neam\u021b County during a memorial service officiated by His Grace Assistant Bishop Nichifor of Boto\u0219ani.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Although the two ascetics were declared saints on July 12 by the Holy Synod of the Romanian Orthodox Church, memorial services remain allowed until their official canonization ceremony next year.<\/span><\/p>\n

The liturgical program began with the Divine Liturgy, celebrated by an assembly of clergy in the <\/span>monastery\u2019s<\/span> church. Archimandrite Ioanichie B\u0103lan, the author of the Romanian Patericon, <\/span>was also commemorated<\/span> during the service.<\/span><\/p>\n

Guiding Souls Toward <\/span>God’s<\/span> Plan<\/span><\/strong><\/h2>\n

In his concluding sermon, His Grace Bishop Nichifor of Boto\u0219ani reflected on the lives of Saints Paisius and Cleopas, emphasizing their spiritual legacy: <\/span>“Elders <\/span>Paisius and Cleopas shone with the light of the Holy Spirit, the light of faith, and the light of truth<\/span>.”<\/span><\/p>\n

He highlighted their spiritual mission: <\/span>“T<\/span>hey revealed to people that God has a plan for each of them. We <\/span>are called<\/span> not only to act but <\/span>first<\/span> to cleanse ourselves spiritually<\/span>.”<\/span><\/p>\n

Their commitment extended to uplifting countless souls through spiritual guidance and confession: <\/span>“T<\/span>hey sought to raise not ten, but thousands of people who would be righteous before God, so that He may work in this land through truth and love<\/span>.”<\/span><\/p>\n

His Grace urged believers to follow their example of unwavering faith and sincerity: <\/span>“T<\/span>hey taught people to remember prayer, care for their souls, and live by the truth they profess, trusting that when the faithful live righteously, God Himself will guard the city<\/span>.”<\/span><\/p>\n

Protosyncellus Meletie Muntianu from Sih\u0103stria Monastery was elevated to <\/span>the rank of<\/span> archimandrite by the Assistant Bishop of the Archdiocese of Ia\u0219i.<\/span><\/p>\n
