On December 1, 1918, our forebears fulfilled their dream of a united nation, achieving the Great Union in Alba Iulia,\u201d he continued.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSince then, we have endured wars, dictatorship, revolution, and severe health and economic crises. It was the result of the commitment, struggle, and labour of successive generations inspired by the humanist and democratic vision of our elites,\u201d President Iohannis added.<\/p>\n<p>Romania celebrates its National Day on December 1.
