{"id":506043,"date":"2024-11-22T12:27:30","date_gmt":"2024-11-22T10:27:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/basilica.ro\/?p=506043"},"modified":"2024-11-22T12:27:30","modified_gmt":"2024-11-22T10:27:30","slug":"1000-days-of-war-in-ukraine-ukrainian-orthodox-vicariate-prays-for-peace-and-refugees","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/basilica.ro\/en\/1000-days-of-war-in-ukraine-ukrainian-orthodox-vicariate-prays-for-peace-and-refugees\/","title":{"rendered":"1,000 Days of War in Ukraine: Ukrainian Orthodox Vicariate prays for peace and refugees"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>On Tuesday, memorial services for the victims of the war in Ukraine were held across several communities within the Ukrainian Orthodox Vicariate in Romania, marking 1,000 days since the onset of the military conflict.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The services, organized in collaboration with the Embassy of Ukraine in Romania, took place in Ukrainian Orthodox churches in Sighetu Marma\u021biei, Bistra (Maramure\u0219), Criciova (Timi\u0219), Lugoj (Timi\u0219), Petroasa Mare (Timi\u0219), Timi\u0219oara, and Re\u0219i\u021ba.<\/p>\n<p>In Sighetu Marma\u021biei, the service was led by Father Petru Rahovan, Dean of the Sighet Deanery, and was attended by local officials, including the mayor of Sighetu Marma\u021biei and members of the city council.<\/p>\n<p>During the services, prayers were offered for the cessation of the conflict and for peace.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The Ukrainian Orthodox Vicariate, through the Sighet and Lugoj Deaneries, has supported Ukraine and Ukrainian refugees since the beginning of the conflict. In the Vicariate&#8217;s churches, Ukrainian Orthodox Christians in Romania continuously pray for the victims of the war, for refugees, and for peace,&#8221; representatives of the Ukrainian Orthodox Vicariate stated.<\/p>\n<p>The Ukrainian Orthodox Vicariate is an administrative-territorial entity under the canonical jurisdiction of the Romanian Patriarchate.
