The Facebook<\/a>, X.com<\/a> (formerly Twitter), and Instagram<\/a> pages of the Basilica News Agency of the Romanian Patriarchate turn eight years old on Friday, October 20, 2023. They are the best examples of how anything can be used to do good.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Numerous readers are exposed to articles about the Church’s philanthropy and those that promote facts based on the teachings of the Gospel, and the faithful of the Romanian Orthodox Church remain connected and informed.<\/p>\n

Moreover, we promote \u201cThe Good to Know\u201d not only from the ecclesiastical environment but also from society, indicating bridges of collaboration between institutions and people.<\/p>\n

Basilica.ro currently has over 136,000 followers on the Romanian Facebook page, over 3,400 followers on X platform in Romanian and over 35,000 followers on Instagram. In addition, we have an English Facebook page<\/a> with over 10,000 followers and an English account on X.com<\/a> that surpasses 4,200 followers.<\/p>\n

We are also present on Telegram<\/a>, Pinterest<\/a> and, more recently, we have a WhatsApp channel<\/a>.<\/p>\n

His Beatitude Patriarch Daniel conveyed<\/a> a message for the 2021 World Day of Social Networks, noting that in the context of the pandemic, social platforms \u201cproved to be a very useful missionary and pastoral means, since for a long time the faithful could not physically participate in the Church services.\u201d<\/p>\n

At the same time, the Patriarch of Romania urged using social networks \u201cwith discernment and responsibility in the spirit of solidarity, respect and love of fellow human beings.\u201d<\/p>\n

This year, we also marked 15 years<\/a> since the first news was published on the Basilica.ro website, a moment marked by several online activities and by the outdoor photo exhibition<\/a> recently inaugurated on Patriarchate\u2019s Hill.<\/p>\n
