The itinerant exhibition called the Museum of the Bible, which hosts over 1000 copies of the Holy Scriptures in hundreds of languages and dialects, has returned to Timi\u0219oara. During the opening of the exhibition, a new initiative began: the handwriting of the biggest Bible in Romania.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The opening of the exhibition took place<\/a> on Monday, April 24, at New Millennium Reformed Centre. Representatives of religious denominations and public authorities from Timi\u015f County participated.<\/p>\n

Metropolitan Ioan spoke about the origin of the term “Bible”, how it established itself in the culture of the entire human civilization, and how the Holy Scriptures changed the lives of millions of people who believe and confess the word of God.<\/p>\n

“The role of the Bible in the formation of civilization and the development of European culture” is the theme of the current Bible Museum exhibition, a unique project in Romania initiated<\/a> by the Baptist pastor Ionel Tu\u021bac.<\/p>\n

After the official opening of the Bible Museum, the writing of the biggest Bible in Romania, measuring 90\u00d760 centimetres, began.<\/p>\n

His Eminence Metropolitan Ioan of Banat handwrote the first among the more than 31,000 Bible verses. Pastor Ionel Tu\u021bac wrote the second verse.<\/p>\n

After the meeting, the mezzo-soprano Aura Twarowska performed classical compositions dedicated to the Bible, Christ the Redeemer, and the Mother of God. At the same time, the Pascha troparion was also sung.<\/p>\n

The project was made possible through collaboration with the Timi\u0219 County Council and Timi\u0219oara City Hall.<\/p>\n

This year, Timisoara holds the title of European Capital of Culture, together with Elefsina (Greece) and Veszpr\u00e9m (Hungary).<\/p>\n
