The M6 metro line, from Bucharest’s Northern Railway Station to “Henri Coand\u0103” Airport in Otopeni, Ilfov county, will be inaugurated in 2027, Metrorex director general Mariana Micl\u0103u\u0219 announced on Tuesday.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The announcement was made after Metrorex signed the contract with a Turkish-Romanian consortium for the design and construction of Section II of the Magistral, the one between Tokyo Street and the airport.<\/p>\n

The companies have 12 months for the design and 36 months for the execution. the contract value for the second section is 1.3 billion Romanian Lei.<\/p>\n

The construction work will be carried out by the Romanian company Somet SA, which specialises in underground infrastructure projects.<\/p>\n

The contract for the first section, Gara de Nord – 1 Mai – B\u0103neasa, has already been signed and work starts in June.<\/p>\n

Bucharest’s M6 metro line<\/strong> will have a total length of 14.2 km and 12 stations and will be served by 12 new trains. It is a public utility project of national interest.<\/p>\n
