Metropolitan Iosif of Western and Southern Europe published a message for the Day of Romanians Everywhere, marked on the last Sunday of May every year, saying the celebration is \u201ca good opportunity for every Romanian to reflect on and better understand their identity and vocation.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Metropolitan noted that the Romanian Orthodox Church, together with other institutions, contributes to preserving and transmitting Romanian identity and values.<\/p>\n

Metropolitan Iosif\u2019s message on the Day of Romanians Everywhere: full text<\/h1>\n

Christ is Risen!<\/p>\n

The last Sunday of May, the Day of Romanians Everywhere, is an excellent opportunity for every Romanian to reflect on and better understand their identity and vocation, regardless of the country in which they temporarily live.<\/p>\n

Our values expressed through religious identity, language, culture, and civilisation are those through which our people assert their uniqueness and pursue fulfilling its ideals in Romania and abroad.<\/p>\n

The fact that many Romanians have chosen in the last 30 years to live abroad is a real challenge for the Romanian state authorities and the Church.<\/p>\n

The Romanian Orthodox Church and the Romanian state institutions – the Department for Romanians Abroad, Embassies, and Cultural Institutes – collaborate in countless projects to preserve and transmit from generation to generation the Romanian identity and the values of the Romanian people.<\/p>\n

As we approach the Feast of the Ascension of the Lord and the Feast of the Descent of the Holy Spirit (Pentecost), we ask our Saviour Jesus Christ, the Conqueror of Death, to help us with His grace not to forget our Christian roots and identity, which we confess every day through our deeds.<\/p>\n
