There has always been a need for prayer and fasting, especially now when there is war in Ukraine. We ask God to bring peace on earth,\u201d the Metropolitan of Cluj noted.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Metropolitan Andrei listed seven exhortations and spiritual steps for Great Lent:<\/span><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Prayer and fast<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Divine Liturgy of Saint John Chrysostom and Saint Basil the Great (Saturdays and Sundays)<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Vespers on Sunday and catechesis<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Liturgy of the Presanctified Gifts (Wednesdays and Fridays)<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">The Mystery of Confession done properly<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Bible reading<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">To all these, we add the fundraising for the Central Missionary Fund, done with incredible generosity, and the support of war refugees.
