{"id":312332,"date":"2021-03-17T15:56:54","date_gmt":"2021-03-17T13:56:54","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/basilica.ro\/?p=312332"},"modified":"2021-03-17T15:56:54","modified_gmt":"2021-03-17T13:56:54","slug":"timisoara-archdiocese-urges-believers-to-help-feed-migrants-during-lent","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/basilica.ro\/en\/timisoara-archdiocese-urges-believers-to-help-feed-migrants-during-lent\/","title":{"rendered":"Timisoara Archdiocese urges believers to help feed migrants during Lent"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>In recent months, Romania has become the main transit gateway for migrants, most of them from Afghanistan, who are trying to reach the countries of Western Europe in search of a better life.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>More than two-thirds of migrants crossing Romania are registered in the western city of Timisoara, many returning there after being accommodated in various centres in the country, hoping to move on.<\/p>\n<p>The Archdiocese of Timi\u0219oara and the Timi\u0219oara Filantropia Foundation, personally coordinated by Metropolitan Ioan, have already provided, several times, food and objects of a strict necessity for these people who suffer from hunger and cold.<\/p>\n<p>The last such action, organized with His Eminence Metropolitan Ioan of Banat&#8217;s care, took place last week.
