{"id":278768,"date":"2020-05-05T14:57:15","date_gmt":"2020-05-05T11:57:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/basilica.ro\/?p=278768"},"modified":"2020-05-05T14:57:15","modified_gmt":"2020-05-05T11:57:15","slug":"international-midwives-day","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/basilica.ro\/en\/international-midwives-day\/","title":{"rendered":"International Midwives\u2019 Day"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>May 5th is the internationally recognised day highlighting and focusing on the works of midwives and midwifery.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>It is a day that is recognised and celebrated globally, with more than 50 nations observing the day.<\/p>\n<p>The idea of the International Day of the Midwife as a day to honour and recognize midwives was proposed by the Australian delegation and discussed among international midwifery associations at the 1987 International Congress of Midwives in the Netherlands.<\/p>\n<p>The initiative took some time to go through the UN System, but was formally launched in 1992.<\/p>\n<p>Each year the International Confederation of Midwives comes up with a campaign theme to provide motivating call to action for all midwives to get involved and champion our work.<strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Photography courtesy of bebelu.ro<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>May 5th is the internationally recognised day highlighting and focusing on the works of midwives and midwifery.
