In addition to help offered to the vulnerable, the Church continues to offer money and equipment to hospitals across the country.<\/p>\n<p>The online platform <a href=\"https:\/\/ajutacubucurie.ro\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">ajutacubucurie.ro<\/a>\u00a0(\u201chelp with joy\u201d) connects efforts made to bring help all over Romania. On this website, volunteers and donors offer help, which is directed to those who request it at the<strong> toll-free helpline<\/strong> <strong>0800.800.368<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Find below a synthesis of the measures and help actions taken by the dioceses of the Romanian Orthodox Church between April 1 and 10, 2020.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h3><strong>The\u00a0Archdiocese of Bucharest<\/strong><\/h3>\n<figure id=\"attachment_276311\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-276311\" style=\"width: 890px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-276311 size-medium\" src=\"https:\/\/basilica.ro\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/ansamblu-patriarhal-patriarhie-catedrala-patriarhala-DSC_8010-1-890x592.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"890\" height=\"592\" srcset=\"https:\/\/basilica.ro\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/ansamblu-patriarhal-patriarhie-catedrala-patriarhala-DSC_8010-1-890x592.jpg 890w, https:\/\/basilica.ro\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/ansamblu-patriarhal-patriarhie-catedrala-patriarhala-DSC_8010-1-1024x681.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/basilica.ro\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/ansamblu-patriarhal-patriarhie-catedrala-patriarhala-DSC_8010-1.jpg 1200w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 480px) 440px, (max-width: 768px) 354px, 890px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-276311\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Photo: Basilica.ro<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<ul>\n<li>Through the program \u201cMeals of Joy\u201d, implemented in partnership with the supermarket chain Selgros Cash&amp;Carry, the archdiocese offers food products and hot meals for 1,176 persons from its social assistance centers, the homes for the elderly and the parish canteens from Bucharest and the surrounding Ilfov and Prahova counties. Also, 1,150 additional hot meals are taken to the beneficiaries\u2019 homes, an action which will continue until the state of emergency is ended. Between April 6 and 10, the value of the hot meals surpassed 9,000 ROL.<\/li>\n<li>It offered\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/basilica.ro\/arhiepiscopia-bucurestilor-continua-campania-de-sprijinire-a-unitatilor-medicale-si-a-persoanelor-afectate-de-pandemie\/\">6,000 still water bottles<\/a>\u00a0worth over 3,000 Euros to some hospitals in Bucharest.<\/li>\n<li>Doamna Oltea Parish in Bucharest offered 1.3 tons of canned food worth almost 2,700 Euros to the \u201cMatei Bal\u0219\u201d Hospital.<\/li>\n<li>By April 12 aprilie, the \u201cSt Panteleimon&#8217;s Athaeneum\u201d Departament of Bucharest&#8217;s St Panteleimon\u00a0 \u2013 The Firefighters&#8217; Tower Church granted humanitarian and financial help in value of <a href=\"https:\/\/basilica.ro\/parohia-sf-pantelimon-continua-lupta-cu-covid-19-ajutor-material-si-financiar-de-peste-18-000-lei-in-ultima-saptamana\/\">6,000 Euros<\/a> to those affected by the pandemic. The support consisted of <a href=\"https:\/\/basilica.ro\/covid-19-persoanele-vulnerabile-din-parohia-bucuresteana-sf-pantelimon-primesc-ajutor-in-valoare-de-11-000-lei\/\">food for the elderly<\/a>, covering the utility bills for an association which cares for around 40 vulnerable children and youth, and coverall, face shileds and protection gloves for some hospitals and for St Panteleimon&#8217;s Volunteers.<\/li>\n<li>Over 100 volunteers from the Chapel of the National Cathedral continue to support hospitals and <a href=\"https:\/\/basilica.ro\/voluntarii-paraclisului-catedralei-nationale-continua-sa-ajute-spitalele-si-persoanele-vulnerabile-din-capitala\/\">vulnerable persons<\/a>\u00a0from Bucharest city, the Capital of Romania, and the neighboring Ilfov county. With the help of some important companies, they offered food to the elderly and to the hospitals where Covid-19 patients are treated.<\/li>\n<li>The archdiocesan tailor shop has made 60 coveralls for the Volunteers of the Chapel of the National Cathedral, who bring humanitarian aid to hospitals and to the homes of the vulnerable<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><strong>The\u00a0Archdiocese of<\/strong> Ia\u0219i<\/h3>\n<figure id=\"attachment_276313\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-276313\" style=\"width: 890px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-276313\" src=\"https:\/\/basilica.ro\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/g0011400-890x594.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"890\" height=\"594\" srcset=\"https:\/\/basilica.ro\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/g0011400-890x594.jpg 890w, https:\/\/basilica.ro\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/g0011400-1024x683.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/basilica.ro\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/g0011400.jpg 1300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 480px) 440px, (max-width: 768px) 354px, 890px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-276313\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Photo: Facebook \/ Ansamblul Mitropolitan Ia\u0219i<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Between April 6 and 10, it offered help of almost 83,000 Euros, of which mostly in medical devices (31,000 Euros), hygiene products (over 27,000 Euros) and food and hot meals (22,700 Euros).<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>It donated to the \u201cSt Paraskeva\u201d Hospital of Infectious Diseases in Ia\u0219i a 30,000-Euros fully automatic\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/basilica.ro\/dar-de-mare-pret-oferit-de-arhiepiscopie-pentru-spitalul-de-boli-infectioase-iasi-analizator-automat-teste-covid-19\/\">chemiluminescence immunoassay analyzer<\/a>, mostly funded by the archdiocese (21,300 Euros), but also financed through the donations sent at <a href=\"https:\/\/fiideajutor.ro\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">fiideajutor.ro<\/a>\u00a0(\u201cbe helpful\u201d.ro), an online platform set up by the archdiocese. The device has the capacity of 180 tests an hour and can do different types of tests, including the SARS-Cov-2 test to identify the presence of the new coronavirus which causes the COVID-19 disease.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/fiideajutor.ro\/colegiul-sfantul-nicolae-sau-grija-permanenta-pentru-comunitatea-ieseana\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">The Volunteers of the \u201cSt Nicholas\u201d College<\/a>\u00a0from Ia\u0219i offer, with the support of their private partners, foood and medicine for the isolated elderly. On this purpose, they cooperate with local authorities, private donors (companies, families, NGOs) and block flat owners\u2019 associations. The volunteers found a local coffee shop which offers 100 coffees daily for the doctors in the city. Meanwhile, the Canteen of \u201cSt Nicholas\u201d College prepares 130 hot meals daily for the Hospital of Infectious Diseases in the city, the Providence Clinic and the hostels from the \u201cTudor Vladimirescu\u201d student campus, where doctors are hosted in isolation during the pandemic. Their meals are completed with a desert offered by a local sweet shop.<\/li>\n<li>The H\u00e2rl\u0103u Deanery donated\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/fiideajutor.ro\/protoieria-harlau-cumparat-masti-de-protectie-pentru-autoritatile-locale\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">100 protection masks<\/a>\u00a0for the local administration employees and the law enforcement forces.<\/li>\n<li>The \u201cSt Paraskeva\u201d (\u201eSf\u00e2nta Vineri\u201d) church from Pa\u0219cani city offered\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/fiideajutor.ro\/biserica-sfanta-vineri-din-pascani-doneaza-10000-masti-de-protectie\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">10,000 textile protection masks<\/a>\u00a0to the parishe\u2019s 700 families.<\/li>\n<li>The clerics from the Piatra Neam\u021b Deanery\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/fiideajutor.ro\/preotii-din-piatra-neamt-au-donat-sange\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">donated blood<\/a>\u00a0for three patients from the Neam\u021b County Emergency Hospital. The deanery also offered, at the request of the local Social Assistance Direction, 352 kilos of vegetables for the isolated elderly and hot food for the county hospital. In addition,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/basilica.ro\/treizeci-de-femei-vaduve-dintr-un-sat-nemtean-primesc-constant-alimente-acasa-din-partea-parohiei\/\">30 isolated widows<\/a>\u00a0from Bistri\u021ba Parish are constantly assisted with necessity shopping.<\/li>\n<li>\u201cVenerable St Paraskeva\u201d from Ia\u0219i offered <a href=\"https:\/\/fiideajutor.ro\/parohiile-din-arhiepiscopia-iasilor-sprijina-persoanele-afectate-de-epidemie\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">800-Euro worth food<\/a> for 40 vulnerable families.<\/li>\n<li>The \u201cPentecost\u201d Parish in the town of Valea Lupului offered hot meals for 80 persons.<\/li>\n<li>The \u201cHoly Archangels\u201d Parish in the town of S\u0103vine\u0219ti \u2013 Neam\u021b, in partnerchip with the Foundation \u201cTogether for Social Solidarity\u201d, continue the \u201cDonate and save\u201d project, which consists of food package distribution for vulnerable persons in the area.<\/li>\n<li>D\u0103ne\u0219ti Parish from Piatra Neam\u021b Deanery donated 2,000-euro non-perishable food to 60 persons.<\/li>\n<li>The \u201cVeronica\u2019s Veil and the Brancovan Martyrs\u201d from Ia\u0219i gave 500-Euros worth of food to those in need.<\/li>\n<li>The \u201cSynaxis of the Three Hyerarchs\u201d &#8211; Nicolae B\u0103lcescu Parish from H\u00e2rl\u0103u Deanery offered to seven vulnerable families over 500 Euros in food and financial support to cover their utility bills.<\/li>\n<li>H\u00e2ndre\u0219ti Parish from Ia\u0219i county offered food, antidoron and holy water to 50 elderly persons.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><strong>The Archdiocese of <\/strong>Sibiu<\/h3>\n<figure id=\"attachment_275273\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-275273\" style=\"width: 680px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-275273 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/basilica.ro\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/17448250557a6bc0297ce4.62383053.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"680\" height=\"500\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-275273\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Photo: Patrimoniu Sibiu<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>In the second week of April, it offered help of almost 30,000 Euros, most of it as food and necessity products (almost 22,000 Euros), but also in medical services and accredited services of transport for medical patients (almost 4,000 Euros).<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/M.Ardealului\/posts\/1147248315617907\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">The Parish Media\u0219-Cathedral I and the \u201cSaints Peter and Paul\u201d Church<\/a>\u00a0from the Media\u0219 Deanery donated to the children from the Foster Care Center in the town of Ag\u00e2rbiciu hygiene products, food and other products of necessity with a total worth of almost 700 Euros and offered to the elderly 160 hot meals (400 Euros).<\/li>\n<li>The volunteers of the \u201cSaints Peter and Paul\u201d church from the city of Media\u0219 identified vulnerable persons to whom they offered financial help, food, hygiene products and clothes. They even covered the costs of the utility bills for some of them. The total value of this support was of 660 Euros.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/M.Ardealului\/posts\/1147245222284883\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">The priests from the Bra\u0219ov Deanery<\/a>\u00a0donated to the Clinical Hospital of Infectious Diseases and the Children\u2019s Clinical Hospital from the city of Bra\u0219ov disinfectants, biocides and medical materials of over 2,000 Euros.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/M.Ardealului\/posts\/1141966582812747\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">150 parish volunteers<\/a> from the Bra\u0219ov Deanery participate in the \u201cGifts from the depth of our heart for the seniors\u201d campaign initiated by the Bra\u0219ov City Council, which offers food packages to the elderly. The elderly and the ill can call 0800.420.123 and ask volunteers to do the shopping and other errands for them.<\/li>\n<li>The Bra\u0219ov Deanery is setting up a food bank and a support fund to help families affected by the Covid-19 crisis. The high-school students offered as volunteers to produce <a href=\"http:\/\/mitropoliaolteniei.ro\/2020\/04\/10\/actiuni-filantropice-ale-membrelor-fundatiei-societatea-ortodoxa-a-femeilor-din-craiova\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">face shields<\/a> for the medical staff at the \u201cVictor Babe\u015f\u201d Infectious Disease Hospital in Craiova.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><strong>The Archdiocese of <\/strong>Timi\u0219oara<\/h3>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-276357\" src=\"https:\/\/basilica.ro\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/uvs200410-001-890x501.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"890\" height=\"501\" srcset=\"https:\/\/basilica.ro\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/uvs200410-001-890x501.jpg 890w, https:\/\/basilica.ro\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/uvs200410-001.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 480px) 440px, (max-width: 768px) 354px, 890px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>It offered help of 18,000 Euros, of which 0ver 3,000 for medical devices and the rest as food and hot meals or even money for the utility bills and necessity shopping for the vulnerable.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>For instance, the archdiocese donated for the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/mitropolia-banatului.ro\/mitropolia-banatului-ajuta-spitalele-din-timisoara\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">500 patients<\/a>\u00a0of the Psychiatric Hospital in Jebel, Timi\u0219 county, more than one ton of foods such as potatoes, onion, cabbage, fruit), more than 1,000 jars of jam, 100 kilos of sugar, 100 liters of cooking oil and 1,400 cups of yoghurt. For the facility\u2019s triage area, where new patients will be boarded before the can be confirmed coronavirus-free, the archdiocese donated beds and mattresses.<\/li>\n<li>It also donated <a href=\"http:\/\/mitropolia-banatului.ro\/mitropolia-banatului-continua-sa-ajute-pe-cei-aflati-in-dificultate\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">350 face shields<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/basilica.ro\/doua-tone-de-alimente-donate-de-arhiepiscopie-spitalelor-si-institutiilor-sociale-din-jud-timis\/\">two tons<\/a> of cold cuts for hospitals and public institutions from Timi\u0219 county: the Psychiatric Hospital in Jebel, the Psychiatric Hospital in G\u0103taia, Timi\u0219oara city\u2019s Social Assistance Direction, Timi\u0219 county\u2019s Child Protection Service (DGASPC), the Caritas Federation of the Roman-Catholic Diocese of Timi\u0219oara, the Maltese Help social service and the Timi\u0219oara \u201989 Foundation. The archdiocese also supported some vulnerable families and persons by covering their utility bills. Some examples of humanitarian aid:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The archdiocese donated <a href=\"http:\/\/arhiepiscopiatargovistei.ro\/stiri\/covid-19-arhiepiscopia-t-rgovi-tei-d-ruie-te-n-continuare.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">two Ultraviolet lamps<\/a>, disinfectants and masks to the D\u00e2mbovi\u021ba County Blood Transfusion Center.<\/li>\n<li>The Social Canteen of the archdiocese offers hot meals for\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.arhiepiscopiatargovistei.ro\/stiri\/covid-19-arhiepiscopia-t-rgovi-tei-implicat-n-eforturile-de-eradicare-a-pandemiei.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">100 people<\/a>\u00a0daily.<\/li>\n<li>The parishes Dealu Mare, Doice\u0219ti, Iedera and M\u0103gura from the Pucioasa Deanery donated hygiene products for the Hope Flower Center in the town of Pucioasa.<\/li>\n<li>The parishes Cornetu, Codreanu, Domni\u021ba B\u0103la\u0219a, Titu Gar\u0103, Titu Nou and S\u0103lcu\u021ba from the Titu Deanery\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/arhiepiscopiatargovistei.ro\/stiri\/covid-19-arhiepiscopia-t-rgovi-tei-ajut-institu-ii-sociale.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">donated<\/a> cleaning products for the Establishment for the Elderly in the town of Mereni.<\/li>\n<li>The parishes Lazuri, H\u0103beni, Raciu and M\u0103rce\u0219ti from the South T\u00e2rgovi\u0219te Deanery donated for the \u201cHouse of Sun\u201d Social Services Complex in the city of T\u00e2rgovi\u0219te hygiene proucts, interactive games and sports itmes necessary for the daily activities of the beneficiaries.<\/li>\n<li>The parishes R\u0103zvadul de Jos, R\u0103zvadul de Sus, Sf. Vineri and Sf. Nicolae Androne\u0219ti from the North T\u00e2rgovi\u0219te Deanery donated hygiene and sanitary products, food and stationery items for the Community Services Center \u201cSt Andrew \u2013 Gura Ocni\u021bei\u201d.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><strong>The Archdiocese of <\/strong>Tomis<\/h3>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-276317\" src=\"https:\/\/basilica.ro\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/catedrala-arhiepiscopala-890x594.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"890\" height=\"594\" srcset=\"https:\/\/basilica.ro\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/catedrala-arhiepiscopala-890x594.jpg 890w, https:\/\/basilica.ro\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/catedrala-arhiepiscopala.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 480px) 440px, (max-width: 768px) 354px, 890px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>\u00cen April, it offered\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/arhiepiscopiatomisului.ro\/2417\/peste-500-de-persoane-primesc-mancare-si-produse-de-igiena\/\">humanitarian aid<\/a>\u00a0of 17,000 Euros, of which over 13,000 Euros in hot meals, non-perishable foods and other products and 3,000 in medical devices and hygiene-sanitary products. Some of the contributions were as following:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/arhiepiscopiatomisului.ro\/posts\/1529320780550197\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">The nuns<\/a> from \u201cSt John the Baptist\u201d Monastery in the town of Lipni\u021ba made over 100 bed linen sets for the Hospital of Infectious Diseases in Constan\u021ba and the Medgidia City Hospital.<\/li>\n<li>The Annunaciation Parish of Constan\u021ba city donated 10 blood pressure meters and 3 thermometers.<\/li>\n<li>The Parishes \u201cSt Herman\u201d and \u201cSt Menas\u201d from the city of Constan\u021ba offered medical services in value of almost 500 Euros.<\/li>\n<li>35 socially vulnerable families and low-income pensioners from the villages of Casicea, General Sc\u0103ri\u0219oreanu, Eforie Sud and Amzacea were offered 20 tons of fire wood, 2 tons of potatoes, 1 ton of onion, 200 liters of oil, 300 kilos of rice, 300 kilos of beans and 300 chicken.<\/li>\n<li>The social canteen of the Annunciation Parish from the town of Navodari offers daily 80 hot meals.<\/li>\n<li>The Eforie Sud 1 Parish gave 30 hot meals and non-perishable food packages to the vulnerable.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The project continues. Some of the support measures were as following:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>It donated to the Alba County Emergency Hospital protection equipments in value of\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/basilica.ro\/spitalul-judetean-a-primit-combinezoane-din-partea-arhiepiscopiei-alba-iuliei\/\">4,500 Euros<\/a>:\u00a02,000 protection masks and 300 protective coveralls.<\/li>\n<li>The prietsts from the Reghin Deanery, with their families and congregations donated nearly\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/reintregirea.ro\/actualitatea-eparhiala\/13919-prin-programul-solidaritate-pentru-viata-arhiepiscopia-alba-iuliei-sprijina-spitalele-si-personalul-medical.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">13,000 Euros<\/a>\u00a0for the \u201cDr. Eugen Nicoar\u0103\u201d City Hospital from the city of Reghin.<\/li>\n<li>The priests and faithful from the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/basilica.ro\/protopopiatul-ludus-a-oferit-hrana-si-produse-in-valoare-de-21-250-de-lei-pentru-245-de-persoane-vulnerabile\/\">Ludu\u0219<\/a> Deanery\u00a0helped 245 vulnerable and isolated people from Mure\u0219 county, offering them non-perishable foods, hygiene products and hot meals with the total value of 4,400 Euros.<\/li>\n<li>In Alba county, the Program \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/basilica.ro\/filantropia-se-intensifica-in-arhiepiscopia-alba-iuliei-acum-este-momentul-sa-dovedim-solidaritate\/\">Solidarity through Charity<\/a>\u201d offers daily food and hot meals to more than 300 people affected by the coronavirus pandemic. Some of the aid actions:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The priests from Bac\u0103u Deanery followed Archbishop <a href=\"https:\/\/basilica.ro\/arhiepiscopul-ioachim-isi-doneaza-salariul-spitalelor-bacauane\/\">Ioachim<\/a>\u2019s example, who donated his salary for the benefit of a few hospitals, and donated over\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/basilica.ro\/spitalul-de-pneumoftiziologie-din-bacau-le-multumeste-preotilor-dupa-ce-acestia-au-donat-65-000-de-lei-din-salariile-lor\/\">13,000 Euros from their salaries<\/a>\u00a0for the Pneumophtisiology Hospital in Bac\u0103u. With their money, the hospital will buy a vital functions monitoring device, two automatic infusers, a thermometer and a pulse oximeter.<\/li>\n<li>On April 6, the Bac\u0103u Deanery, through the volunteers from parishes and from the Association of the Romanian Christian Orthodox Students, started distributing <a href=\"https:\/\/eprb.ro\/tinerii-ascor-si-voluntarii-protoieriei-bacau-vin-sprijinul-comunitatii\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">20,000 packages<\/a> with staple foods and hygiene products to low-income elderly persons (with pensions which amount to less than 285 Euros.<\/li>\n<li>Archbishop Ioachim donated\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/eprb.ro\/ziua-mondiala-sanatatii-protopopiatul-roman\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">1,000 protection masks<\/a>\u00a0to the Emergency Hospital in the city of Roman, the 4<sup>th<\/sup> Brigade of the Romanian Military Police and to the priests from the Deanery of Roman and the volunteers from the Association of the Romanian Orthodox Youth \u2013 ATOR Roman, the faithful from the city of Roman and the neighbouring towns.<\/li>\n<li>The \u201cSynaxis of the Three Hierarchs\u201d Parish and other two church organizations distributed to the elderly 70 food packages worth 540 Euros.<\/li>\n<li>On April 3, the Association \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/eprb.ro\/ajutorul-oferit-de-asociatia-sf-voievod-stefan-cel-mare-harja-cadrelor-medicale-si-pacientilor-de\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">St Stephen the Great \u2013 H\u00e2rja<\/a>\u201d delivered to the Maternity and Pediatrics of the Bac\u0103u County Hospital paper towels, disposable protection gloves, liquid soap and 30 \u201cHappy\u201d baby outfits for the mothers and their newborns.<\/li>\n<li>The Archdiocese\u2019s tailor shop is making textile protection masks, of which\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/eprb.ro\/centrul-eparhial-sprijina-spitalul-municipal-de-urgenta-roman\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">300<\/a>\u00a0have already been donated to the City Emergency Hospital in Roman.<\/li>\n<li>The Parishes Cernu, Com\u0103ne\u0219ti, <a href=\"https:\/\/eprb.ro\/proiectul-eparhial-iubeste-ti-aproapele-ca-pe-tine-insuti-derulat-protopopiatul-moinesti\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">D\u0103rm\u0103ne\u0219ti<\/a>,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/eprb.ro\/proiect-social-filantropic-eparhial-derulat-parohiile-din-protoieria-sascut\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Fulgeri\u0219<\/a>,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/eprb.ro\/proiect-social-pentru-familiile-copiilor-centrului-de-zi-sf-arh-rafail-din-parohia-holt\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Holt<\/a>, Pietrosu and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/eprb.ro\/activitate-sociala-parohia-traian\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Traian<\/a> offered humanitarian aid to the socially vulnerable.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><strong>The Archdiocese of <\/strong>Arge\u0219 and Muscel<\/h3>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-275287\" src=\"https:\/\/basilica.ro\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/Curtea-de-Arges-Monastery-private-trip-1280x640-890x445.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"890\" height=\"445\" srcset=\"https:\/\/basilica.ro\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/Curtea-de-Arges-Monastery-private-trip-1280x640-890x445.jpg 890w, https:\/\/basilica.ro\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/Curtea-de-Arges-Monastery-private-trip-1280x640-1024x512.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/basilica.ro\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/Curtea-de-Arges-Monastery-private-trip-1280x640.jpg 1280w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 480px) 440px, (max-width: 768px) 354px, 890px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>It offered humanitarian aid of more than 15,000 Euros, mainly as hot meals, non-perishable foods, necessity shopping and other types of support such as covering the utility bills for vulnerable persons and offering medical transport for patients. In addition, nerly 19,000 Euros raised in the Br\u0103ila Deanery were offered to the local county hospital to acquire a\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/basilica.ro\/protopopiatul-braila-va-achita-un-aparat-de-ventilatie-pulmonara-pentru-spitalul-de-urgenta-din-judet\/\">pulmonary ventilator<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>It established\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.agerpres.ro\/culte\/2020\/03\/31\/galati-arhiepiscopia-dunarii-de-jos-a-creat-un-fond-pentru-achizitionarea-de-aparatura-medicala-de-maxima-urgenta--477924\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">a special support fund<\/a>\u00a0for the pandemic period: the account is <strong>RO98RNCB 0141 0328 6409 0098<\/strong>, at BCR Bank, Gala\u021bi Branch, the account owner\u00a0 eing named\u00a0<strong>Arhiepiscopia Dun\u0103rii de Jos, <\/strong><strong>with fiscal identification code <\/strong><strong>(CUI) 3127395<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The support measures were as following:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>On April 10, the archdiocese donated the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/basilica.ro\/ierarhul-si-clericii-eparhiei-dunarii-de-jos-doneaza-40-000-lei-pentru-un-aparat-de-ventilatie-mecanica\/\">8,000 Euros<\/a>\u00a0to \u201cSt John\u201d Emergency Hospital for Children in Gala\u0163i for a pulmonary ventilation device. The money was raised from Archbishop Casian\u2019s salary and the salaries of the eparchy\u2019s priests.<\/li>\n<li>The General Railway Hospital of Gala\u0163i was offered 300 protection masks, chlorine, liquid soap, disinfectants in total value of 2,500 Euros.<\/li>\n<li>The archdiocese\u2019s \u201cSt Nicholas\u201d social canteen ensures hot meals for 50 vulnerable persons, 20 employees of the Gala\u0163i Emergency Situations Inspectorate and 50 quarantined persons.<\/li>\n<li>\u201cVenerable St Paraskeva\u201d Parish from the city of Gala\u0163i offers daily hot meals for 100 vulnerable persons. From the beginning of the pandemic and up to April 7, the total worth of this kind of support was of 2,100 Euros.<\/li>\n<li>\u201cSt Spyridon\u201d Parish from Gala\u0163i continues to assist the 70 beneficiaries of its daycenter for children in ways adapted to the state of emergency. The children and their families regularly receive food packages, hot meals, hygiene products of 3,400 Euros a month (of which 2,800 ensured by local authorities). The parish also offered 900-Euro worth of food packages for the vulnerable.<\/li>\n<li>The accredited social services offered by the Charity Association \u201cSt Basil the Great\u201d of Gala\u0163i continue at two centers for children and youth (with 75 beneficiaries) in ways adapted to the current situation.<\/li>\n<li>The priests from T\u00e2rgu Bujor Deanery, in the county of Gala\u0163i, offered food and hygiene materials of almost 7,000 Euros.<\/li>\n<li>The Br\u0103ila Deanery offered to the Br\u0103ila County Hospital 1,000 protection masks and ordered a\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/basilica.ro\/protopopiatul-braila-va-achita-un-aparat-de-ventilatie-pulmonara-pentru-spitalul-de-urgenta-din-judet\/\">pulmonar<\/a>y ventilator\u00a0in value of almost 19,000 Euros, which is to be paid from personal donations made by the local priests and funds raised by them.<\/li>\n<li>The Rediu and Plevna parishes in Gala\u021bi county distributed to the families in their area 600 sacks of flour donated by a few benefactors, with a total value of almost 10.000 Euros.<\/li>\n<li>The 30 beneficiaries of the \u201cPentecost\u201d Parish Social Center in Gala\u021bi receive daily food packages while other 30 receive help at home: food and medicine shopping, home cleaning and also psychological and emotional support over the phone.<\/li>\n<li>\u201cSt Ann\u201d Parish in Gala\u021bi donated food and hygiene products in value of over 7,000 Euros.<\/li>\n<li>The Cudalbi 4, Hanu Conachi, Slobozia Conachi, Costache Negri and Pechea 1, 2 and 4 parishes from Gala\u021bi county distributed hot meals, food and cleaning products \u0219in value of almost 500 Euros.<\/li>\n<li>The Parish Independence II in Gala\u0163i county offered to the people protection masks, disposable gloves and food products worth 330 Euros.<\/li>\n<li>The Annunciation Romanian-Greek Parish from Br\u0103ila donated a fridge to the city\u2019s Obstetrics and Gynecology Hospital, while the Br\u0103ila parishes of St Nicholas, St Demetrios \u2013 Br\u0103ili\u021ba, The Holy Archangels, St Anthony the Great and St Menas, as well the Chiscani I Parish offered hot meals, non-perishable foods and hygiene products \u2013 totalling almost 5,000 Euros.<\/li>\n<li>The Movila Miresii and Mohreanu parishes from Br\u0103ila county donated food in value of 260 Euros.<\/li>\n<li>Ianca I and II parishes from the Deanery of F\u0103urei distributed to the City Hospital and the Elderly Establishment sanitary kits and food in value of 200 Euros from the parishoners\u2019 donations.<\/li>\n<li>Nicore\u0219ti Deanery donated 900-Euro worth of food and hygiene products for the socially vulnerable in their parishes and also disinfectants and protection materials in value of 400 Euros for the Pediatrics Hospital in Tecuci.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><strong>The Archdiocese of <\/strong>Arad<\/h3>\n<figure id=\"attachment_274740\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-274740\" style=\"width: 720px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-274740 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/basilica.ro\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/covid-19-arhiepiscopia-aradului-ofera-hrana-calda-si-echipament-medical-de-protectie.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"720\" height=\"478\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-274740\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Photo: Arad Heritage<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<ul>\n<li>The archdiocese continued\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.arhiepiscopiaaradului.ro\/2020\/04\/fundatia-universitara-vasile-goldis-din-arad-multumeste-arhiepiscopiei-aradului-pentru-sprijinul-acordat-in-lupta-contra-pandemiei-cu-covid-19\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">the fundraising efforts<\/a>\u00a0started in partnership with the \u201cVasile Goldi\u015f\u201d University Foundation to endow the County Emergency Clinical Hospital of Arad with medical devices. In addition to the eight pulmonary ventilators (having a total value of 66.640 Euros, to which the archdiocese contributed with\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.arhiepiscopiaaradului.ro\/2020\/03\/intrajutorare-jertfa-si-comuniune-in-arhiepiscopia-aradului\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">15,000 Euros<\/a>), in April, the hospital also received:\n<ul>\n<li>a video laringoscope of 3,330 Euros;<\/li>\n<li>17 ozone generators and a positive ions generator in value of 2,743 Euros;<\/li>\n<li>Surgical gloves, protection costumes, protective bonnets, face shields, protection\u00a0 masks, shoe covers of 13,260 Euros;<\/li>\n<li>8 humidifiers\u00a0 of 1,575 Euros;<\/li>\n<li>5,000 three-layered disposable masks of 3,250 Euros;<\/li>\n<li>2,500 KN95 protection masks in value of 6,250 Euros;<\/li>\n<li>other medical products of 2,896 Euros.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>The nuns from the Arad-Gai Monastery and the Skete of T\u0103mand made a few thousand\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.arhiepiscopiaaradului.ro\/2020\/04\/confectionare-de-masti-de-protectie-pentru-aradeni\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">protection masks<\/a>\u00a0for Arad hospitals and also for those who cannot afford them.<\/li>\n<li>The archdiocese offered in April support with a total value of almost 7,000 Euros, mainly as hot food and hygiene products. The rest of the money was used to offer food, hygiene products and other necessity shopping for vulnerable people.<\/p>\n<h3>The Diocese of Alexandria and Teleorman<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>It offered, until April 10, support in value of 12,500 Euros, as following:<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/basilica.ro\/episcopia-alexandriei-donatii-catre-spitale-si-jandarmerie-alimente-pentru-varstnici\/\">3,100 Euros<\/a>\u00a0for the Caritas City Hospital in Ro\u0219iori de Vede;<\/li>\n<li>3,000 protection masks for the Teleorman Military Police and for the City Hospital in Videle.<\/li>\n<li>4,140-Euro worth of food, of which half were distributed by the Pantocrator Monastery for 100 people in the town of Dr\u0103g\u0103ne\u015fti Vla\u015fca.<\/li>\n<li>It also offered hygiene products and small offerings in products or money to cover the utility bills of the socially vulnerable.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>The Diocese of Giurgiu<\/h3>\n<p>It offered support in value of 3,100 Euros, especially in hot meals and food, but also in hygiene and necessity products or by covering some vulnerable people\u2019s utility bills. It also offered medical services in value of 620 Euros.<\/p>\n<h3>The Diocese of Slatina and Romana\u021bi<\/h3>\n<p>It offered support in value of almost 5.000 Euros, most of it as hot meals, food, necessity shopping.<\/p>\n<h3>The Diocese of Tulcea<\/h3>\n<p>It offered support in value of 2,500 Euros, of which 1,000 Euros as medical devices and the rest as food, hot meals and necessity shopping for the vulnerable and isolated. The actions were organized through the parishes.
