{"id":252384,"date":"2019-09-19T13:32:08","date_gmt":"2019-09-19T10:32:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/basilica.ro\/?p=252384"},"modified":"2019-09-19T13:32:08","modified_gmt":"2019-09-19T10:32:08","slug":"nbr-numismatic-issues-dedicated-to-140-years-since-the-founding-of-macedo-romanian-cultural-society","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/basilica.ro\/en\/nbr-numismatic-issues-dedicated-to-140-years-since-the-founding-of-macedo-romanian-cultural-society\/","title":{"rendered":"NBR: Numismatic issues dedicated to 140 years since the founding of Macedo-Romanian Cultural Society"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The National Bank of Romania put into circulation, on Septembre 18, 2019, for numismatic purposes, a silver coin dedicated to the <em>140 years since the founding of Macedo-Romanian Cultural Society<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0coin\u00a0has the following characteristics:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Face value:\u00a0lei 10;<\/li>\n<li>Metal:\u00a0silver;<\/li>\n<li>Fineness:\u00a0999\u2030;<\/li>\n<li>Shape:\u00a0round;<\/li>\n<li>Diameter:\u00a037mm;<\/li>\n<li>Weight:\u00a0103g;<\/li>\n<li>Quality:\u00a0proof;<\/li>\n<li>Edge:\u00a0milled.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Obverse<\/strong>: the \u201cLupa Capitolina\u201d (She-Wolf) statue, a symbol of Latinity also taken over by the Macedo-Romanian Cultural Society, and an excerpt from the society\u2019s charter; the inscription \u201cROMANIA\u201d in an arc, the face value \u201c10 LEI\u201d, the coat of arms of Romania and the year of issue \u201c2019\u201d.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Reverse<\/strong>: the portrait and name of Calinic Miclescu, the Primate Bishop and honorary chairman of the Macedo-Romanian Cultural Society, and the portrait and name of V.A. Urechia, secretary, its founding members; the inscription \u201cSOCIETATEA DE CULTURA MACEDO-ROMANA\u201d in an arc and the year when the society was founded: \u201c1879\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>The mintage of this issue is 300 silver coins.<\/p>\n<p>The selling price is lei 350.00, VAT excluded, per silver coin, including the certificate of authenticity.<\/p>\n<p>The silver coins dedicated to the\u00a0<em>140 years since the founding of Macedo-Romanian Cultural Society\u00a0<\/em>are legal tender on the territory of Romania.<\/p>\n<p>The silver coins will be put into circulation, for numismatic purposes, through the regional branches of the National Bank of Romania in Bucharest, Cluj-Napoca, Constan\u021ba, Dolj, Ia\u0219i and Timi\u0219oara.<\/p>\n<p>Photo courtesy of NBR<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The National Bank of Romania put into circulation, on Septembre 18, 2019, for numismatic purposes, a silver coin dedicated to the 140 years since the founding of Macedo-Romanian Cultural Society.
