Funds collected were directed to children in distress"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The sixth edition of the benefit concert entitled <em>We sing carols by tradition<\/em> was held Wednesday, in Bucharest.<\/p>\n<p>The Association of Students of Orthodox Theology organised Wednesday, 14 December, a benefit concert at the National Library of Romania. Hundreds of people responded to the invitation to listen carols and offer donations for children in distress.<\/p>\n<p>The concert was attended by His Grace Timotei of Prahova, Assistant Bishop to the Archdiocese of Bucharest, clerics, and representatives of local and central authorities.\u00a0Bishop Timotei delivered a word of blessing and addressed congratulations for organising this concert.<\/p>\n<p>The first group to perform was the Byzantine Music Choir <em>Tronos<\/em> of the Patriarchal Cathedral, led by Archdeacon Protopsaltes Mihail Buca. Choirs <em>Nicolae Lungu<\/em> and <em>Symbol<\/em> of the Romanian Patriarchate followed.<\/p>\n<p>The Association of Students of Orthodox Theology has been organising this type of concert since 2011, in order to bring hope to those who pass through difficult times.<\/p>\n<div class=\"embed-responsive embed-responsive-16by9\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"890\" height=\"668\"
