Suceava Archdiocese establishes Orthodox Women’s Society in honour of Princess Maria of Mangup

A new Orthodox Women’s Society carrying the name of Maria of Mangup, the second wife of Moldavia’s ruler Saint Stephen the Great, has been established, according to the Archdiocese of Suceava and Radauti.

The new Society is an organisation that works to improve the community by volunteering in the three intervention areas of education, family, and church.

In the Technical College “Petru Mușat” conference room in Suceava, a gathering was held on Monday, October 17, to establish this informal society of volunteers and to organise the community action plan.

The ancient Byzantine princess Maria Asanina Palaiologina, often known as Lady Maria of Mangup, served as a role model for confession via acts of faith.

Daniela Ceredeev, the Religious Education Inspector for Suceava County, stated: “That is precisely why I invite and wait for you, with joy and love, to join our effort.”
