On the 400th anniversary of the birth of Holy Hierarch Dositheus, Metropolitan of Moldavia, the Archdiocese of Iași will republish one of his most famous works, the Psalter in Verses.
The activity is part of a project entitled “Restitutio. Scholar Metropolitan Dositheus – 400 years from his birth. Psalter in Verses (1673)” and implemented by the Archdiocese of Iași in partnership with the Iași branch of the Association of the Romanian Christian Orthodox Students (ASCOR).
The project “seeks to bring to the attention of the younger generation the work and figure of Dositheus, theologian, scholar, poet, translator, Metropolitan of Moldavia, a name of reference in the fields of science, culture and art and a representative Romanian personality, who contributed substantially to the development of Romanian literature and art”, announces the Archdiocese of Iași.
The project is supported by funds from the local authorities, according to Romanian law.
