May 1742 – Archpriest and historian RADU TEMPEA II, son of priest Radu

Tempea I passed away. He studied at the school near the church of “Saint

Nicholas” in Șcheii Brașovului, then he became a teacher too, and in

parallel deacon (1713); priest at the same church (ordained on 19

February 1718 in Bucharest, by Antim Ivireanul), then archpriest of

Brașov and of Țara Bârsei (ordained, December 1735), operating till his

death; defender of Orthodoxy and the Romanians rights in Șcheii

Brașovului. He wrote The History of the Holy Church of Șcheii Brașovului

from 1484 to 1742 (remained in manuscript), with many deeds he himself

lived. The book was drafted by Sterie Stinghe in 1899 and by Octavian

Șchiau-Livia Bot in 1969, with a good foreword.
