April 1738 – Metropolitan of Wallachia STEFAN II passed away (buried at
the Metropolitan See, in Bucharest). He was born in 1630. Ecclesiarch
of the Metropolitan Cathedral of Bucharest, Bishop of Buzau (1719 –
1731) and Metropolitan (January 1732 – 1738). During his pastoral rule
many books were printed, among which Chiriacodromionul (1732), after
Cazania by Varlaam.
