On Sunday, July 13, 2025, the Patriarchal Cathedral hosted the celebration of the Translation of the relics of Saint Demetrius the New to Bucharest.
The Divine Liturgy was celebrated at the outdoor altar by the Patriarchal Auxiliary Bishops Varlaam of Ploiești and Paisie of Sinaia, together with Assistant Bishop Timotei of Prahova of the Archdiocese of Bucharest.
A delegation from Mount Athos led by Archimandrite Ephraim, Abbot of Vatopedi Monastery, who brought to Bucharest the honourable skull of Saint John Chrysostom, also participated in the Holy Liturgy.
