Romanian Patriarchate calls for prayer and solidarity amid worsening wildfires

As wildfires continue to spread across multiple regions of Romania, the Romanian Patriarchate urges clergy and faithful in all dioceses to unite in prayer and solidarity.

On Sunday, March 16, 2025, during the Divine Liturgy, special petitions “for times of great need and human peril” will be included in the Great Litany and the Litany of Fervent Supplication. Also, the “Prayer of Supplication in Time of Any Calamity” will be read following the Litany of Fervent Supplication.

The Romanian Patriarchate expresses deep compassion for those affected by these devastating fires and prays for all firefighters, volunteers, and emergency responders working to extinguish them.

Furthermore, the Church urges all clergy to educate the faithful on the dangers of setting fire to dry vegetation, emphasizing its risks to human life, property, and animals.
