The National Day of Romania celebrated by Romanians in Latin America

The National Day of Romania was celebrated in the Romanian communities from Latin America: in Quito – Ecuador, in Barranquilla – Columbia and in Caracas – Venezuela.

The festivities started on Sunday, November 26, in the Romanian community from Quito, with the Divine Liturgy celebrated by a Te Deum service officiated by Fr Daniel Ene, the delegate of His Eminence Nicolae, Romanian Orthodox Metropolitan of the Americas.

The events continued on Wednesday, November 29, at the Romanian parish in Barranquilla, with a conference dedicated to St. John the Wallachian, the patron saint of the community, and on Sunday, December 3, with a Te Deum service celebrated to mark the National Day.

The National Day was also celebrated at the Maramureș-style wooden church in Caracas, Venezuela, protected the Holy Emperors Constantine and Helena. the Divine Liturgy and a Te Deum service were officiated.

“Romania’s anthem was sung and the Venezuelan faithful prepared a cake in the colours of the Romanian flag, tohonour of Romanians from everywhere,” said representatives of the Romanian Orthodox Metropolis of the Americas.
