At the start of the 2022–2023 school year, 14,138 students were sponsored by the Archdiocese of Bucharest.
The aid consisted of backpacks with school supplies, textbooks, clothes and shoes worth 276,247 EUR (1,364,023 lei).
The clergy and employees in charge of social aid in the diocese carried out charitable deeds.
Priest Ionuţ Tutea, who coordinates the Social-Philanthropic and Missionary Sector of the Archdiocese of Bucharest, reported for Lumina Newspaper that a total of 551 parishes, monasteries, and deaneries participated in the action.
The archdiocese organises events all year long to assist students from families with limited financial resources.
