In Romania, the Palm Sunday Procession dates back to the interwar period, but was banned by the communists in 1948.
The traditional procession restarted in 2008 with the blessing of His Beatitude Patriarch Daniel.
Pointing to this religious manifestation, Patriarch Daniel stressed that it is both a reminder of the Entry of our Lord Jesus Christ into Jerusalem and a profession of faith.

This year’s Palm Sunday Procession will take place on Saturday, April 20, on the eve of the feast of the Entry of our Lord into Jerusalem aka Palm Sunday.
