Honourable Hand of Saint Andrew the First-Called arrives in Romania 

The Honourable Hand of Saint Andrew the First-Called arrived Friday morning in Bucharest being brought for the consecration of Romania’s National Cathedral, an event that will be recorded by history.

The reliquary containing the Honourable Hand of Romania’s Patron Saint was brought by a delegation of the Greek Orthodox Church, led by Metropolitan Chrysostomos of Patra.

The Greek delegation was welcomed on the Henri Coanda International Airport in Otopeni by His Grace Visarion, Bishop of Tulcea.

The holy relics will remain inside the Patriarchal Cathedral until Saturday, November 24, at 16:00 pm, when it will be brought to the Chapel of the National Cathedral.

On Sunday, when the consecration of the National Cathedral will take place, the reliquary will be brought together with a particle of the holy relics of the Holy Great Martyr Catherine will be placed at the Holy Altar’s exit in order to be available for believers after entering and venerating the Holy Altar.

The holy relics will return to Greece on Monday morning.
