Saint John Chrysostom commemorated at the Chapel of the National Cathedral

His Grace Varlaam of Ploiești, Assistant Bishop to the Patriarch and Chief Secretary of the Holy Synod, celebrated the Divine Liturgy on the feast of Saint John Chrysostom, Sunday, 13 November 2016. Saint John is the protector saint of the Chapel of the National Cathedral.

At the end of the Divine Liturgy, His Beatitude Patriarch Daniel delivered a sermon referring to the gospel reading and the life and works of Saint John Chrysostom. His Beatitude awarded the Order of Hieromartyr Saint Anthimos the Ivirite to the Very Reverend Archimandrite Ciprian Grădinaru, for the pastoral and social activity undertaken, but also for carrying out the collection for supporting the National Cathedral.
