Romanian Patriarchate sends message of compassion and solidarity with the Egypt attack victims

The Romanian Patriarchate has learned with much sorrow that 26 Christians, among whom children, were killed and dozens were wounded in the Egyptian province of Minya, after several gunmen opened fire on a bus carrying passengers. The bus was travelling to the Monastery of St Samuel, near Minya, which has a large population of Coptic Christians.

We pray to the Most Compassionate God to rest in His peace and love the souls of those killed, to grant quick recovery to the wounded and to comfort the families affected by this tragedy.

We are deeply concerned that more and more Christians from different parts of the world become victims of extreme manifestations of violence and hatred from those who do not desire to live in peace and social harmony, regardless of one’s religious belief.
