The Basilica Press Centre of the Romanian Patriarchate celebrated its patronal feast and its 10th anniversary on the Feast of the Most Holy Trinity, 5 June 2017. On this occasion, His Grace Bishop Varlaam of Ploiesti celebrated the Divine Liturgy and offered prayers of thanksgiving at the Patriarchal Cathedral.
After the divine services, His Beatitude Daniel, Patriarch of Romania, welcomed the employees of the Press Centre at the Europa Christiana Hall of the Palace of the Patriarchate.
His Beatitude gave a speech entitled Basilica Press Centre – ten years of media ministry, in which he referred to the activities of the Centre that reflect the Church’s mission to be a messenger in the world of good deeds.
By means of radio, audio-visual, printed and on-line communication, as a priority the Church points out the light of people, by presenting icons of merciful love and co-responsibility, through whom she invites indirectly her members and the people from outside to become in their turn icons of light and merciful love, that is, deeply human persons, he said.
After the speech, His Beatitude visited the photo exhibition dedicated to Patriarch Justinian Marina, given the fact that the Holy Synod of the Romanian Orthodox Church declared 2017 a Commemorative Year of Patriarch Justinian and of the defenders of Orthodoxy during communism.
Finally, the members of the five departments of the Basilica Press Centre received the patriarchal blessing from His Beatitude Daniel and took photos of the groups.
