Ordination and enthronement dates for Metropolitan-elect Nathanael of Chicago announced

His Eminence Archbishop Demetrios Geron of America has announced the ordination and enthronement dates of Metropolitan-elect Nathanael of Chicago.

The ordination of Archimandrite Nathanael Symeonides to the Episcopacy will take place on Saturday, March 17, 2018 at the Archdiocesan Cathedral of the Holy Trinity in New York City (319 East 74thStreet New York, NY 10021). The service of Orthros will begin at 8:30 a.m. and the Hierarchal Divine Liturgy will begin at 9:30 a.m.

His Eminence Archbishop Demetrios of America will enthrone metropolitan-elect Nathanael on Saturday, March 24, 2018 at Chicago’s Greek Orthodox Cathedral of the Annunciation (1017 N LaSalle Dr, Chicago, IL 60610) with the service beginning at 11:00 a.m.

Archimandrite Nathanel Symeonides was born in Thessaloniki in 1978. He studied in Greece and the USA. He was ordained to the diaconate in 2003 and to the priesthood in 2010. During 2006-2010 he was the archdeacon of His Eminence Archbishop Demetrios of America, and in 2010 he was appointed parish priest at the Annunciation Church in New York City. In September of 2013 he was appointed Director of the Office of Inter-Orthodox, Ecumenical and Interfaith Relations of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America.
