The Metropolitan Synod of the Holy Metropolis of Muntenia and Dobrudgea met Friday, 20 May 2016, at the Patriarchal Residence in Bucharest, under the chairmanship of His Beatitude Daniel, Patriarch of the Romanian Orthodox Church.
On the agenda were the review and approval of the service texts of: Sts John Cassian and Germanos of Dobrudgea, Sts Bretanion and Theotimus, Bishops of Dobrudgea. There have also been submitted proposals in order to find new ways and methods to support poor parishes.
In accordance to the Statutes for the organization and the functioning of the Romanian Orthodox Church in force, the Metropolitan, together with the Archbishops, the Bishops, the Assistant Bishops and Hierarchs of the suffragan dioceses form the Metropolitan Synod.
