Meeting of the Primates of the Orthodox Churches for Preparing the Pan-Orthodox Synod of Constantinople, 5 – 9 March 2014

Following the invitation of His Holiness Bartholomew, Ecumenical Patriarch of Constantinople, His Beatitude Daniel, Patriarch of Romania and a delegation of the Romanian Orthodox Church will participate in the Meeting (Synaxis) of the Primates of Orthodox Church for preparing the Pan-Orthodox Synod, to be held in Constantinople, from 5 – 9 March 2014.

The delegation headed by the Patriarch of Romania consists of: His Eminence Metropolitan Joseph of the Romanian Orthodox Metropolitanate of Western and Southern Europe, His Eminence Metropolitan Nifon, Archbishop of Targoviste and Patriarchal Exarch, Patriarchal Counsellors Michael Tita and Stefan Ababei, and Deacon Mihai Musat.

Various aspects related to the organisation and development of the Holy Great Synod of the Orthodox Church, as well as other topical themes concerning the relationships among the Orthodox Autocephalous Churches will be analysed during the meeting.

On the Orthodoxy Sunday, the first one of the Lent (9 March 2014), the Primates of the Orthodox Churches will celebrate the Divine Liturgy in the Cathedral of Saint Great Martyr George of the Ecumenical Patriarchate situated in Phanar district of Constantinople.
