Israeli Ambassador to Bucharest visiting the Romanian Patriarchate

On 21 December 2016, His Beatitude Patriarch Daniel received, at the Patriarchal Residence, His Excellency Mrs. Tamar Samash, Ambassador of Israel to Bucharest.

The ambassador thanked for reception and expressed the joy of being able to meet again with the Romanian Patriarch almost a year since the previous meeting.

His Beatitude Patriarch Daniel appreciated the good relations of the Romanian Patriarchate with the Federation of Jewish Communities in Romania and emphasized the importance of pilgrimages organized by Basilica Travel Agency for pilgrimages of the Romanian Patriarchate to the Holy Land, whereby the piety of pilgrims is enhanced and a better knowledge of the Holy Places is acquired.

In this context, the ambassador presented to the Patriarch of Romania a project of the Israeli Embassy to Bucharest for the organization in early 2017, at the Patriarchal Palace, of an exhibition of photographs entitled “A Lasting Faith: Orthodoxy in the Holy Land“.

His Beatitude Patriarch Daniel appreciated this initiative considered useful for the faithful of our Church and, in particular, for the Romanian Orthodox pilgrims eager to visit the Holy Land.
