His Eminence Metropolitan Petru of Bessarabia and His Grace Bishop Veniamin of Southern Bessarabia concelebrated Saturday, August 18, the Divine Liturgy at St John Jacob Church in Chisinau.
The feast of Saint John Jacob was marked on August 18 according to the Julian unrevised calendar observed by the parishes within the Orthodox Metropolis of Bessarabia.
At the end of the Divine Liturgy, His Grace Bishop Veniamin referred to the life of Saint John Jacob and pointed out his virtues.
‘Through his chosen way of living, and through many feats he received grace from God and was counted among the Romanian Saints, who are constantly praying for our people,’ he said.
A procession around the church building and a Doxology (Te Deum) followed.
