Graduation Festivity of the Students of the Faculty of Orthodox Theology of Bucharest

Today, 27 June 2016, the graduates of “Patriarch Justinian” Faculty of Orthodox Theology in Bucharest swore in the fidelity oath to the Romanian Orthodox Church.

The day began with the Divine Liturgy and continued with the Te Deum celebrated by His Grace Varlaam Ploieşteanul, Assistant Bishop to the Patriarch, in “Saint Spyridon the New” Cathedral. The Deputy Rector of the University of Bucharest, Prof. Romiţă Iucu attended the ceremony.

The festivities continued at the Patriarchate Palace, where the festive course of the students of the Faculty of Orthodox Theology marking the end of the graduation studies was held in the presence of His Beatitude Daniel, Patriarch of the Romanian Orthodox Church.

The Patriarch of Romania told the fresh graduates to manifest themselves as gifts for the Church and society.

We are glad to have young diligent and religious graduates, full of missionary zeal, of love for Christ and for His Church. We hope that these gifts that God gave to the Church through these young people should be cultivated to make them fruitful in the missionary field of the Church. Given that according to the theological studies the essence of the Gospel and of the Christian faith is the love for God shown in prayer and love for one’s fellow beings proved in good deeds, then the Gospel of the merciful love becomes the content of any mission, either of the servants of the Holy Altars, of men and women religious teachers, or of those who will work within the Church through sacred art showing visually and musically the depth and eternal value of Orthodoxy, His Beatitude said.
