Thursday, 7 April 2016, on the occasion of the World Health Day some disadvantaged persons from Arad benefited from free consultations within the Medical Consulting rooms of “Unmercenaries Saints Cosmas and Damian” – the Social and Philanthropic Missionary Department informs. The medical volunteer activity was coordinated by dr. Călin Popa.
“On this occasion the medical equipment received for the consulting rooms was also inaugurated, a mobile ultrasound badly needed for the consultations within the eparchy, especially in the poor parishes. The beneficiaries of the free medical services provided there are vulnerable persons from the city of Arad and not only from Arad, disabled persons with no income whatsoever or with low pensions, with social pensions, families with many children, unemployed, persons of rroma origin, etc. – Rev. Fr. Gabriel Mariş, social counsellor of the Archdiocese of Arad declared.
The medical consultation rooms of the Archdiocese were equipped and inaugurated in 2003, with the blessing of His Eminence Timotei, Archbishop of Arad.
